Competition Finalists with Barkow Leibinger Architects

A 120.000 square meter site on Frankfurt's Main River. Its monumental plaza includes large grass panels and groves of shade trees within a continuous paved plane. Paving is a subtle matrix of stone and cast pavements. The plaza design provides a bold foreground to the buildings, while addressing security concerns through the use of reflecting pools, low hedges and a canopy of shade trees.
