The design for this important campus location was developed with consideration
for the campus edge and for a wide range of users. The building's mass
defers to three towering oak trees, forming a central commons. The bluestone
paving of the exterior terrace is continuous with the floor of the interior
lobby, and a sculptural granite pool and bench sit within this plane.
Other such interwoven landscape spaces, both planted and paved, surround
the building.
