The master plan for this 45-acre island property creates a family compound set in an existing two-acre clearing. The plan includes four distinct cottage sites placed at the edge of a rocky meadow, chosen in response to each family's preferences, and to the rich natural surroundings. At the center of the plan is a shared family building that includes a large kitchen; dining, family and play rooms; as well as equipment storage and other shared uses. Pool, play courts, trails and other landscape spaces complete the plan.
