In collaboration with Diller Scofidio + Renfro, MBLA completed design concepts for the proposed expansion of a 1970’s classic golf resort. The program included 50 new guest rooms, existing building renovations and a new resort pool. The guest rooms were laid out in linear strands folded into the contours of the Sonoran Desert landscape. The juxtaposition of the architectural forms with the rugged, arid terrain and the contiguity of indoor/outdoor living spaces intensifies the experience of inhabiting the desert, offering a truly luxurious experience of architecture and nature.
