Lake Austin House

Designed for a young, active, and growing family, this lakefront home is situated within the distinctive topography and lush vegetation of the Lake Austin shore. The design employs a number of monolithic limestone walls that echo aspects of the architecture to define primary areas of outdoor seating, dining and gathering at the main house and provide privacy and retain steep grades throughout the site. The driveway turnaround, house, garage and guest parking were carefully sited and graded to preserve a grove of large existing cottonwoods, one of Austin’s Heritage Trees.
