Islesboro Residence

Situated on a dramatic coastal property, with stunning views of Penobscot Bay and distant peaks, this residence consists of three modern buildings: a main house, boat house and studio building. The entry drive passes around and through a low meadow before ascending the forested ledge outcropping to arrive at the main house. A network of trails allows circulation throughout the site and connects the three buildings and dock. Native shrubs, groundcovers and trees were used throughout the property to repair the site and seamlessly knit the design back into the surrounding landscape.
