Seal Harbor Residence

This long, dynamic house designed by Peter Forbes Architects is carefully nestled into the coastal Maine forest on top of a dramatic, stepped outcropping of ledge. Masses of wild sod and other native plantings were used to remediate the construction site. A series of precisely cut granite steps, landings, and paving stones contrast with the natural order, creating moments of refinement along the woodland paths surrounding the house.
