Storms Research Center

The Storms Research Center is the new library and media center for this small college located at a former army hospital outside Philadelphia. The new landscape, comprised of a series of plazas with 40-foot long benches along a tree-lined promenade, serves to anchor a new social center for the campus. This project was part of a three-phased undertaking for this new campus crossroads, furthering the realization of a larger campus master plan. An east-west plaza bordered by an allée of red maples links the future mall to the existing campus. Two entry plazas provide outdoor seating and lawn space, as well as a visual connection to the existing campus. Panels of grass and groundcover extend the geometry of the building into the outdoor space.
