Tubac Residence

Tubac, Arizona

 

This desert residence illustrates MBLA’s approach to close collaboration in helping to fit an overall project to its place and taking full advantage of the particular assets of the natural landscape. The design is simple: the house and guest house together create an outdoor room that is a direct extension of the interior spaces and building vocabulary. Designed around views to three mountain ranges, the structures are tucked into the slope in such a way that their mass, along with the driveway and auto court, cause minimal disturbance to the site.
