University of Arkansas IT Building

Fayetteville, Arkansas

MBLA collaborated with Office of Mobile Design and local Arkansas architect Miller Boskus Lack on a two-phase project that will house the University of Arkansas IT department.  The bracketed form of the building creates a sizeable central courtyard, which features massive rectilinear plantings of native grasses. Entrances are defined by monolithic local limestone benches. The plant beds will serve as the primary infiltration for courtyard and roof runoff. The rear terrace, which provides space for social gathering, dining and relaxing, opens to the restored creek bed. This project anticipates a LEED Silver rating.
