Whole Health Institute
Bentonville, Arkansas
Whole Health Institute is a new nonprofit center created by Alice Walton to promote all aspects of human wellness. This dynamic, multi-faceted building, designed by Marlon Blackwell Architects, occupies a prominent site on the Crystal Bridges Campus in Bentonville, Arkansas, joining Safdie Architects’ widely heralded CBMAA museum, the popular Amazeum, and forthcoming Art Park and Convergence. The WHI building will house the institute’s many offerings, including spaces for events, classes, and offices, along with a café and library. MBLA’s plan crafts an entirely new landscape for the approximately 10-acre site, knitting the new building and outdoor spaces into the campus and surrounding woodlands. Our design emphasizes many points of arrivals and the extension of many indoor uses to the outside. An expansive event lawn will accommodate concerts and gatherings – all linked to the campus’ extensive trail network that connects the many campus offerings.
